The Album Insanity surfboard is Josh Kerr’s performance shorter board of choice. Its a super versatile modern style performance surfboard that would be a worthy addition to your quiver. Kerr uses this board as a small wave killer and as his good wave tube rider. In the smaller stuff its best ridden as a twin + trailer and in bigger better waves, especially when a bit more hollow it flies as a quad. Album supremo Matt Parker suggest riding it at about a litre more than your shortboard and an inch or two shorter. The swallow tail set up is preferred for your daily driver and also works fine as conditions improve but you can always go for a custom with a round pin tail if you are looking to ride the board more as a step up. The adaptability and magic in the Insanity is in the design specifics; a low-entry rocker, hidden foam under your chest, beak nose with a little retro sensibility, high-performance rails, bottom contours and exit rocker. This combination of features is nothing without Matt’s legendary shaping skills which bring it all together. the board paddles like a dream has plenty of flow, drive and hold and yet turns like a proper shortboard, better get in the queue!!

These Album boards are works of art, Matt Parker and his team stamp a real authenticity on their boards, they’re all hand finished so don’t expect factory uniformity in the beautiful resin tints, everyone one is unique. The glassing is 4+4/5oz with a fin patch added too. Fin choice is important as ever, ride the Insanity with a decent upright twin and trailer set up for everyday waves, and with a standard quad set up for the better stuff.

The Insanity Fish, like all boards from Album is proudly built in California, no finishing of the boards takes place anywhere else but Album HQ.
