“EVE” aims to illuminate the robotic, habitualized routines of humanity created by our technological society. “EVE” reveals the power that awareness holds and how this awareness can help us to rediscover the beauty that lies dormant in our everyday moments.
“EVE” is set in the near future in a society where all movements and tasks are performed for humans by paternalistic android figures. This has caused a monotonous, bleak existence for humanity as they are forced into stasis and routine. The film follows the story of a woman caught in that existence. After her android starts to glitch and take on humanistic features she decides to switch the android off. She is then thrown into a new world where she has to re-learn her everyday actions. In doing so she becomes aware of her present reality and is able to realise the beauty that lies dormant in her everyday actions. Through this self-actualisation she not only regains her autonomy but rediscovers her sense of self and purpose.
