After playing in Jacksonville and Chicago during his career, the destination Allen Robinson this offseason is intriguing. Will he be looking to cash in, or will he be willing to take a cheaper deal to join a team that should challenge in 2021? Robinson is the most proven of the available options, but there are some potentially fascinating names behind him.

Godwin, Smith-Schuster, and Golladay are all extremely talented, but there are also plenty of question marks. All three could be franchise leading receivers in the next five years, but they could also end up looking like bad deals in the next 24 months. Fuller falls into the same category, but his question marks are both injury and character-related. His active suspension for testing positive for a banned substance is going to reduce the amount he can likely command in free agency.

Green, Hilton, Watkins, and Fitzgerald are all solid veteran options. However, none of them can be relied upon to be a dominant force as a receiving option at this point in their careers. Marvin Jones sits in the middle of the group at the position. He offers utility as a valuable number two receiver, but he does not offer the potential number one upside of the players above him.

The Detroit Lions are definitely in the market for multiple wide receivers this offseason. The Lions are losing four of the five wide receivers who finished the 2020 season with the team with the most catches. Quintez Cephus showed some promise as a rookie, but he cannot do it all himself.

With that in mind, here is a plethora of pending NFL free agent options for the Lions to consider this offseason. It’s by no means a complete list and does not include players who might get cut by their current teams for salary cap purposes.

Four of the players on this list were Lions in 2020. It’s unknown if the new coaching and management regime will want any of them back.
