Spaceship Frost is back, and with it, more board game poetry! This time about the beautiful greens and dastardly deeds of Irish Gauge!

This is a weekly challenge for myself, to use the medium of poetry to convey my love for board games… particularly the ones that require at least two humans to play (and in whichever style of poetry fits the bill for that game). I talk a LOT about solo games on this channel, but honestly, just like many of you, I’m really starved for get those multiplayer games off my shelves in the After Times, while meanwhile really enjoying the great two player experiences out there with my wife (when the kiddos allow for such indulgences).

Enjoy!

IRISH GAUGE POEM:
A beautiful map, a furious brawl
A scant few pounds each, but taste for them all
Some cubes, some cards, some discs, some trains
Some friends gathered round to stare daggers at brains

Make track for your trains, special interest you say?
How much money do you have, HAHAA AUCTION DAY
Or wait, do you happen to lead in good stocks?
Call dividends with haste and watch rivals kick rocks!

From coast to coast, from forest to town,
Imaginary blasts of trains bearing down,
Expansion, expansion, expansion’s the game,
Til all of the valleys and hills have been tamed

Just remember, no color’s one player’s,
It’s a train game, that’s just how they are
Open markets of stocks make for layers
And strange bedfellows dividing up sleeping cars
