This is the Clare section of the Turas DVD / Video which was produced in response to the cancellation of live performances as a result of the Covid crisis. There are 27 sections in the overall show, one hour and fifty minutes in length. Each section covers one or more counties or topics, and music relevant to the county or the subject is played at normal volume to accompany related photographic and other images. The show is a TV-style documentary, using still images and complete-tune music tracks with a variety of performance formats – solo, duet, trio – with dance on many of the 90 sets. There are a total of five songs, three in Irish, two in English. The musicians are Gerry O’Connor (fiddle), Tiarnán Ó Duinnchinn (uilleann pipes), Fintan Vallely (flute), Sibéal Davitt (sean-nós step dance), Seamus O’Kane (tambourine); singers Róisín Chambers, Karan Casey, Máire Ní Choilm and Róisín White. The music is taken from the CD Compánach, which additionally has two songs by Maurice Leyden and one by Stephanie Makem. Full information on purchase and viewing on www.tur.ie.
